Why Didn't I Think Of That?

Just can't seem to nail the wrap and roll technique that an ordinary curling iron requires? Ummm. Me neither. Luckily for the hair challenged that want that beach wave look (yes you can still rock this look even though summer is over), the Infiniti Pro by Conair Curl Secret ($99 on Ulta.com ) is an automated curler that makes Taylor Swift-worthy waves a breeze. To use, clamp a small section of hair in the round portion of the tool, Squeeze the handle and the tool rolls the hair up into the chamber. After you hear a series of beeps, release and the curl is set. Repeat as needed. Skeptical? Read more reviews HERE.

2012 fall looks for your locks

Your wardrobe’s not the only thing in need of an update this fall — admit it, you’re kind of sick of sporting the same beachy, messy strands every day, aren't you? Not to mention how fried your mane looks after all those months of fun in the sun. Clearly, it's time to change it up as fall 2012 gets underway. {Style} Blunt Bangs: If you’ve got ‘em, flaunt ‘em. Bangs are the ultimate hair accessory this season. Whether they’re full and square, short and rounded or just swept to the side, bangs frame the face and accentuate the eyes. When styling, start drying the bangs first and remember to use the nozzle attachment on your blow-dryer. The key to getting the perfect style is by directing the airflow straight down from the root . Using a vent or denman brush and brushing side to side will keep them sleek and prevent you from looking like you’re seven-years-old again and your mother just cut your fringe with some kitchen shears. No bangs? No worries! Go commitment-free and use...

Hailey's Hair Favorites

Piggybacking on last week's hair theme, I thought I would share with you some of my personal faves. Regardless if my hair is long or short, sleek or messy, I have a few hair products that if discontinued tomorrow I would mourn their loss quite heavily. KMS Hair Play Dry Wax - Found in most beauty supply stores or online, this product acts like hairspray but allows you to play with it until you get the style right. It gives your hair a textured, almost dirty feeling without weighing your hair down or looking wet. I discovered this product when my hair was short. I would spray a small amount then tease it for that messy look. Now that my hair is longer, I will bat comb my hair in the crown then spray to give it added volume. I haven't found another product similar so I'm praying this never gets discontinued. $10-15 for a 4.7 oz. bottle. KMS Colorvitality Blonde Shampoo - I've been using "purple" shampoo for years. The UV filters and optical brightener in this ...

Hot 2011 Men's & Women's CUTS

Need more than just a new way to part your hair? Are you in desperate need to change it up entirely? In 2011 you can look forward to more layers, blunt bangs and razor cut bobs. Of course, right when I grow out my hair, the short haircut becomes the biggest trend for the new year. Oh well, you all can have it now. Whether you are looking for something subtle or drastic, below is a list of hot cuts that are sure to make you feel like a new woman (or man): WOMEN: BLUNT BANGS were popular in 2010 but they are HOT in 2011. They are especially flattering for round and square face shapes and balance out high cheekbones. For a modern, sophisticated look cut the bang just over the eyebrow. What I love about the blunt bang is if you want to change it up at a moments notice you can sweep them to the side for a different look. Best to ask your stylist what bang design fits your face and personality. Bangs work with any style; short, long, curly. SHAGGY BOBS with textured feathered layers will...

2011 TRENDS: New Year, New Hair

In need of some styling help? Wondering what's the latest hair trends? I'll speak for myself and answer YES! Since 1998, I've had super short hair. It was easy. Different. I loved it. And secretly I didn't mind the attention it brought me. I was constantly stopped by gasping comments like, "OH MY GOSH, you're hair is to die for!" Or women insisting that they could never wear such a cut, only fishing to hear, "No you totally could!!" During my long journey to get pregnant with baby #2 however, I decided that I wasn't going to cut my hair until I was pregnant. Some idea that was. Not only did I go through the emotional roller coaster of unexplained infertility, I had a mop of hair in that terribly ugly grow out stage. You can only imagine the level of self confidence I had. Yeah - none. But I pushed through and here I sit, many months later, with a baby in my belly and long(er) hair. Although I thought I would for sure chop my hair after the p...
